Marina Serra

 

The scenery is characterized by the presence of cliffs, inlets, mediterranean vegetation and a crystal clear sea, The location is dominated by the the Calino promontory, also called "Belvedere" in virtue of the panorama offered.

At Marina Serra is located also the Grotta Matrona, accessible only form the sea. Not too far, there is another inlet that creates a location called "La Piscina", with the suggestive "Grotta dei Monaci".

Obtained from the cliffs there is a little harbour, that is utilized by the local fisherman.

In this beautiful location there is also a temple dedicated to the assumption of the Virgin and commonly called "Santa Maria della Serra". The church dates back to the XVI century.

Going to North in direction of Tricase porto, there is another natural inlet called "Canale del Rio". It is believed that this inlet has been excavated by the devil in only a night.
